Painting Day with Janet Bligh
Sat 21 May
2016 sees practicing artist and qualified teacher Jan Bligh focussing on the wealth of art of countries of the world in a series of painting days.
This painting day will focus on...
'Russia and Eastern Europe'
Chagall, Kandinsky, Dürer, Fabergé. Rich colour, bold and decorative. Mediums used will be water colour and acrylic.
The methods used to convey the warmth, colour and sense of place are all different and well worth studying and using as inspiration in your own work.
The painting days are designed for all adult artists and aim to develop individual style. A little basic knowledge is preferable. Each day is a separate unit but there will be greater understanding if the days are followed in sequence.
During the course you will be guided through the use of various materials (watercolour, pastel, acrylic, gouache, etc) and emphasise drawing, using different media to gather inspiration and information. The aim is to develop your own artistic creativity not change your style, with emphasis being on enjoyment, encouragement and personal achievement at your own pace.
Please bring your own materials, e.g. support (paper/board), sketch books, pencils, paint and suitable brushes, including some large ones.
